Life Saving Oxygen Generator
At Ishaka Adventist Hospital, oxygen is not always easy to come by. The nearest supplier is a 1.5-hour drive away, and without a central piping system, oxygen is stored in large tanks. When a critical patient arrives in the emergency room, a nurse must retrieve a tank on a cart, wheel it to the ER, attach the necessary equipment, and only then begin oxygen treatment—precious minutes that can mean the difference between life and death.
The hospital spends about $400 each month on oxygen—not including the fuel and time it takes to collect it every few weeks. In Uganda, this is a significant expense, especially when many patients cannot pay for care, leaving the hospital to absorb the cost.
To continue providing quality care for both paying patients and those living in poverty, Ishaka Adventist Hospital urgently needs an oxygen generator. This would allow them to produce oxygen on-site and pipe it directly throughout the building—saving time, saving money, and most importantly, saving lives.
