Ok, first of all, I just want to say that for those who don't know, I have a strong love for the country of India. I have been to India five times and collectively for about ten months. So when I heard about today's guest, I just knew I had to have her on the show. Srujana Moparthi is the definition of an empowered woman in India, and her heart is with the lepers of India. For those living in the western world, it is likely that when the word leprosy is brought to one's attention, at the most, one might think about stories from the Bible. Leprosy is one of the oldest diseases known to man. Despite advances in technology, leprosy continues to be a public health challenge in countries around the world, such as India. Two hundred thousand cases of leprosy are diagnosed every year around the world, with the USA only seeing about 250 of those cases.
I hope you are a fan of Srujana like I am. So do me a favor and check out their organization's website, and if you have a desire to reach out to Srujana personally, you can email her as well.
