While in the Philippines, we had the rare privilege of visiting Jolo Island in the province of Sulu. This island has been closed to foreign visitors for the past 30 years due to ongoing conflict. Thanks to our connections with an organization called SULADS, we were able to make this journey under the careful supervision and protection of the local military and special forces.
