Sunshine Orchard Learning Center

Sunshine Orchard Learning Center is a beautiful place filled with beautiful people, located in Thailand along the border of Myanmar. Originally established in Myanmar, the school was forced to relocate across the river into Thailand when things became too dangerous from the civil war. Since its beginning, Sunshine Orchard has been known as a refuge school for children escaping the horrors of war in Myanmar (Burma).

The school was founded in Thailand by the Adams family, who moved from the United States over 15 years ago. They quickly fell in love with the people and the mission, and have remained ever since. Over the years, the school has grown steadily, but in just the past four years—due to new escalation of conflict across the border—the number of children allowed to cross into Thailand for school has increased from around 160 to more than 800 boarding students.

This rapid growth has been challenging for the staff, yet God continues to open doors for them to welcome more and more students. Sadly, each year many children must still be turned away simply because the school lacks the resources to take in another child.

This ministry is very close to our hearts. We know the Adams family well and have visited Sunshine Orchards many times. In fact, Lexi once lived at the school for six months and worked at a nearby clinic.
