Adventist Aviation Indonesia was founded in the early 1970s on the island now called Papua in Indonesia. It was established to help spread the gospel into unentered and remote areas of the island where many villages are difficult to access. The aviation program was created to transport people to regions that would otherwise be unreachable.

It is a faith-based, volunteer-driven organization that supports the Seventh-day Adventist Church in its mission to carry the good news of the Gospel to the world through aviation, education, and medical ministry.

The mission of Adventist Aviation Indonesia is to accelerate the spread of the gospel to unreached and remote areas of Papua by providing air and medical support to established SDA missions and organizations, and by helping the church open new work in unentered territories.

Our Personal Experience

Adventist Aviation Indonesia was the bridge that first introduced us to the people of Papua and to the work being carried out through the local foundation, Yayasan Cahaya Harapan Papua. During our three weeks in the country, our love for the rugged mountains, dense jungles, and the wonderful people in need of a Savior grew deeply.

Our time with the Roberts family was a true blessing and a spiritual gift. We had the privilege of being the last foreign film crew to document the work being done under the leadership of Gary Roberts before his passing in July 2024. As the organization continues forward under the leadership of Gary’s brother, Eric, we have seen how God has used—and continues to use—this incredible ministry.

The local foundation, Yayasan Cahaya Harapan Papua, is locally funded and currently does not have a way to receive foreign donations. If you are interested in supporting Adventist Aviation Indonesia in their ministry of medical evacuations and their ongoing support to remote areas through delivery and transport, please contact us at aaronandlexitravels@gmail.com, and we’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.

Thank you for considering support for this ministry.
